Student Information Services (SIS) Tutorials

These tutorials allow you to check out how to use NC State resources like the Degree Audit and Degree Planner, as well as how to navigate your Student Center. Don’t feel the need to be an expert, just use it as a guide at this point for planning and exploration.

What is the Degree Audit?

Your degree audit is a useful tool that the University makes available for students, families, and advisors to identify all of the required coursework for all majors at NC State University.

Once a student begins to take courses at NC State, or transfers in credit taken at another institution or earned from AP/IB tests, their courses will appear in the Degree Audit. This is a great way to see how your courses line up with all of the available majors!  Students may use this as a guide to identify courses that will meet requirements for the various majors they are exploring.

Where can I find the Degree Audit?

  • The Degree Audit is available on the Registration & Records website-Degree Requirements From here, you can look up any major at NC State!
  • The Degree Audit can also be found in your MyPack Portal: To see what courses are required for your graduation in a certain major or minor, select Student Self Service > Degree Progress/Graduation > Degree Audit-Undergrad > Check the “What If?” Box > Select the “Program”, i.e. College, you are interested in > Select the “Plan”, i.e. Major you are considering > Run Report

Feel free to look up as many majors as you like!

8-Semester Display

The Semester-by-Semester Display is a helpful tool that allows students, families, and advisors the opportunity to see what a typical student enrolled in each major is taking each semester, with the intention of earning a degree in 4 years. It is a great guide for students and advisors to plan your courses for the first year because it gives us an idea as to what you will need to take later on in your education.
